My Little Man is 3

All Doss has been able to talk about lately is how he wanted a black cake for his birthday. Well his black cake started turning into, "No Momma I want a BIG black cake!" I had no idea where to go with the idea of a big black cake? Over the weekend I had bought a cake decorating book for a cupcake decorating class I will be teaching at our home school co-op this semester and there it was.... He completely changed his mind when he seen the "Big Cupcake" cake in this book! He also feel in love with the little green monster cupcakes in there. Much to my surprise he changed his mind about the black cake he had been talking about for over a month and was set on these!

Knowing that the big cupcake would be plenty for the small party he was going to have, I still felt like I needed to make a few monster ones since they had some black in them :)

I have been fretting all week about not throwing a big birthday party for Doss because I have always went all out for both of my kids birthday parties and I didn't want to be unfair or cheat him in anyway :( But I keep remembering back to last years party....)

He was not a happy camper.

My kids are the typical, polar opposites, in many ways. Doss does not enjoy attention in anyway and Skylee would bathe in it!! She is all about a huge blow out party and Doss was the happiest I have ever seen him last night at Ta Mollys with us, his grandparents, Aunt Charity and her Girls. After leaving there, I looked at Brandon and said this was way to easy.... Sky may be in trouble come August!! :) Lol!!! No I will try to do what each of them enjoy the most if at all possible. Even though it is very tempting ;).....

Another big deal we have been having around here started back last June when Sky saved up all of her money and bought her very own iPod Touch. We were fixing to leave for Florida and all of the other kids had DS's so she decided she wanted to spend her money and get something she could play. Well that posed a huge problem with Doss!! He wanted it all of the time and has still wanted it to this day! And at times he got it and for about 3 months it was lost and we gave up because it was no where to be found :( I felt bad because I had made Sky share with him and he was the last one to have it. Then one morning we were getting ready for church and I heard Skylee SCREAM!!! I knew exactly what it was when she screamed... She had found her iPod in the new couch! We never sit in the new living room (partly because we don't want to mess up the new furniture) so we hadn't thought to look there. She was so happy and so were we! So to justify not throwing Doss a Big party, we decided to use the money we would have spent on it and get him his own. He loves it!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Doss Brody! We love you so very much!

And We're Back!!!

We have finally decided to get high speed Internet!!! So I can finally start blogging again. Yay!!!! I have missed the blog world. I guess it is my outlet to the world since I stay home with the kiddos everyday. A lot has happened with our family since the last time I posted...

Starting with our previous post about our newest addition "Luther".... Well about 2 and a 1/2 months after we got him he was stolen :( So that was hard on the kiddos and us too. Sky still misses him and asks, "Will they ever bring him back if he gets too big for them?" So we are learning right now that life isn't fair all the time. :o( So if anyone out there sees a big beautiful Bloodhound anywhere with a small white patch on his chest let us know. Hey we gotta try don't we?

Another big life change we have had is that we have fully committed to homeschooling our children. We did the research and decided that this is the best route for our family at this time. With Brandon being gone so often, the kids really miss out on reaping the benefits of their wonderful father. This way we finish school in the mornings and we can all go spend the day with him if that is what we choose! We have also joined the Christian Home-school Educators (CHE) Co-op in Jonesboro, which will provide us with all of the opportunities that we might have missed out on by not participating in a school system such as; field trips, class parties, sports, socialization time with friends, programs and graduations. They also have a Co-op on Mondays for the kids to take different types of classes that are offered. Since their group is maxed out in the facility that they get to use, a friend of mine and I started a co-op in Paragould. It is going very well right now and this is all do to God's wonderful work.

Skylee joined the Greene County Gators swim team back in the fall of 2010 and she absolutely L~O~V~E~S it!! She has done amazing and we are so very proud of her!

This was Sky's very 1st "real " Swim meet and she had a wonderful time!!!

Doss was potty trained last Summer and we are grateful for this! So GRATEFUL! We just have a few accidents at night because he has decided that he thinks pull-up/diapers are for babies and they are not "comfitable" as he puts it!

We also had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Although we have had some sickness in our family over the past few months, God allowed us to have a wonderful holiday season with our family. We just try to soak in all the time and memories we can with these loved ones.
I know I am forgetting a lot of happenings in our life over the past 9 months but I will try to post often and keep you up to speed! (As if anyone really cares) LOL! I just like blogging for my own personal viewing sometimes! ;)

Meet Luther!

This is Luther~ AKA "Big Lu" Bran says that Luther is to much of a mouthfull so he's calling him Lu. It has always been a dream of mine to have an inside Great Dane but with the daycare, and the small children, I have had to put that dream on hold for a little while ;) So instead we got a breed that is almost as big as a great dane and SuPeR ~~~ LaZy~~~ !!!
So here he is ...
Sky was out of town when we went and got him so Doss Man had him all to himself and he loved it! He even got on his hands and knees and started licking the bowl like Luther, he loves him so much.
Check out how big his paws are!!! Wow, he is gonna be big! We got to see his momma, Bonnie, when we went to get him, and she was huge. We walked in the house and she jumped up in a recliner and put one of her paws on the arm rest and just started rocking back and forth. :o) She looked just like an old woman sitting there watching tv rocking.
I hope the kids grow up with Luther and have many fun memories like I did with our childhood dog "Max!"
Sky has wanted a dog for a while now and she has really shown an interest in wanting to help take care of him, I just hope it last for a good long while!

I hope everyone is doing well and having a great spring!

Wanna Play Catch Up???

Yes I know I have been a very slow blog poster lately, but I feel we are all in the same boat right now. It's Spring and lots of activities are blooming, so we are all busy! So just for my special readers I'm gonna catch you up on whats been going on in our CrAzY BuSy, but Wonderful Life!

Here we Go...

Brandon and Nikki worked together and planned the best birthday present ever for BJ and I. Since our birthdays were only just a couple of days apart they planned a weekend trip for us to go and have a relaxing weekend in one of the most beautiful places in Arkansas. It was amazing! If you ever want a weekend away from all technology and fast paced living this is the place to go. No cell phone service, no TV, no nothing! http://www.longbowresorts.com/ This is the front of the cabin. It was built by Ben Pearson back in the '70's, and he built it for his family to go to and enjoy. The cabin is built between 2 boulder rocks that are used for 2 of the 4 outside walls! Such a neat place.... This was our view from the back window!! Ahhhh how refreshing!!This is Bran and I hiking the first day we got there. I never knew how much I liked hiking till this trip. Hiking has got to be one of my favorite things right now. Can't wait to go do it again sometime. Well I like it until we see a snake then I'm good for a while ;) This is Bran and BJ sitting on the kitchen wall! Like I said, "Very Neat Cabin!"
Nikki's Licenses Plate
Bran took a shower in the water fall right behind the cabin. It was 50 degrees outside that night so who knows how cold the water was!
Me and Nik Nik and our matching Wal-Mart hats!

Then we get to Easter Egg dying!! Every year we always look forward to dying our Easter Eggs... Well up-until this year anyway. I don't know what got into Sky this year because not only did she spill 1 cup of dye...

2 cups of dye...

But 3 cups of dye!!!

So that was the extent of our Egg dying this year.

It has finally dried up enough for Doss's favorite thing to do.... "Ride Traters" Every tractor that comes by out here he cries if Papa doesn't stop and pick him up to ride. Even when it's not Papa, Doss still thinks it is!
Dossie if you ever get interested in Potty training, Papa says he will take you anytime you want!
Easter Mornin!

VBS Egg Hunt!Grandma Minnetta helped with Doss so much at VBS! I don't know what I would have done without her that day!Skylee and her Stephie
And yes The Easter Bunny brought all the grandkids a baby chicken for Easter this year. Skylee played with her chicken for 4 hours straight and he decided to go on to Heaven that night just to get some rest from her ;) Doss didn't know what to think about his chicken? He admired his from afar most of the time.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and always remember what Easter is all about! Maybe one day soon we will all be with our Wonderful Lord in Heaven worshipping together!
Stay tuned to see our newest member of our Family!!

Gonna try to do better about blogging!

Milestone for Skylee!!!

4 Year Old Milestone! Our driveway is 1/4 mile long!
Yes my 4 year old daughter just did something that I have been dreaming about since we found out we were having her! She walked down to Grammy and Papa's House all by herself!!! We are so blessed that we live so close to them. That way she can come and go as she pleases to see her Gram, Papa, and even her horses! She lives and breathes horses right now, and I love it! And of course I didn't let you down, I got the whole thing in pictures. So here's how it played out....

Okay, I'm not that crazy!!! I may have had someone special waiting at the end of the drive to help keep her safe from the busy highway ;)

St. Patrick's Day Dinner!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
We had a St. Patrick's Day Dinner Wednesday night at Susan's house. She did an amazing job on the food! She went with a different direction on the food, other than just making all "Green" food. Susan thought it would be neat and educational if we had an Irish meal!

So she made Shepherd's Pie (recipe was compliments of Nikki)

Soda Bread (which was delicious), green beans (probably not Irish but they were Green)

She also had green sherbet with sprite (and the kids loved it)!

And to top it off, She even had cookies and Gumball machines for all the kiddos!

Thanks SuSu! It was a Wonderful Dinner!
If only pre-aranged marriage was still the going thing! ;)
"This here is my Nik Nik" a.k.a. "Mamma #2" ;)
Doss has started calling Nikki that because he knows he will get anything he wants when she is around!

These are our Little Leprechaun's! And we think we are Some Pretty Lucky Mommas!

Date Night!!!

If you don't know already me and my friend Nikki have started playing around with decorating cakes. You can check them out at http://www.loveedencake.blogspot.com/ Anyway we have been averaging about 1 or 2 a week. So that takes up some of our spare time. What the kids don't understand though is that while we are doing these cakes they could be getting away with murder because we don't really have a close eye on them, but instead they want to be right underneath us and constantly need something. So we are constantly telling them, "Go play! You actually have someone here to play with. Go play!" Well I felt like this weekend since we didn't have a cake to decorate Brandon and I would make this weekend all about the kids. So I woke Skylee up from her nap Friday afternoon and asked her if she would like to go on a date with me and her daddy. She was so excited!! She couldn't wait to go pick out her date clothes and she insisted that she wear make-up because that's what you do on a date. When I asked her what she wanted to wear she already had something in mind. She was determined to wear her dress that she wore in her Stephie's wedding. Her Flower Girl dress! So since this was their weekend, that's what she wore! After we got dressed and ready to go we asked Skylee where we were going to eat on our date. Her first thought was Burger King! So here we go all decked out in our flower girl dress headed to Burger King. Then when we got closer to town she said no I want to go to the Burger King on this side of town where Grandma took us to get slush's. So we remembered Minnetta took her to Dairy Queen earlier last week and we pulled in there. But she didn't want to eat there she just wanted a slush from there. So we went through the drive-thru.

So her final decision was the place where we ate with Aiden and Kam. So I remembered we ate at Chili's with them a few weeks back. So we went there. Doss of course drank his whole Artic Rush in one gulp so he had to deal with a major brain-freeze! OUCH!!! But Sky's came in handy because while we were waiting on a table, hers keep them occupied! We had a wonderful little dinner date with the kids and can't wait to do it again. Here's some pictures of how the rest of the night played out!!!
P.S. Thanks to Nikki for letting me borrow her camera since mine is broken :(

This is Doss's favorite meal right now!
Chips and Salsa!!
I just absolutely love this picture because it proves to everyone that our son Doss is a happy child and that he does smile :o) It just takes some work to get him to do it! ;)
She did exceptionally good with that dress. She didn't get anything on it the whole night!
Surprise, Surprise!!!
What a Wonderful Night!!!! After we ate at Chili's we asked what was next and Sky said she wanted to go to a movie. So I asked if she'd rather go to a movie at the theater or go buy a movie at Wal-Mart and go home and watch it all together on the couch? Well she decided she wanted to watch one at home. So they picked out 3 $5.00 movies and we headed home.
Thanks Skylee for such a Great Date Night!
Snuggling in to watch our date movie! The kids love when we pull the 2 couches together and make 1 big couch!
I pray that they never turn us down for a date with them, but I know that time is coming :( So we might as well enjoy it while it lasts, right?

We Love You Skylee Brooke and Doss Brody!
