My Doss

Doss Brody Clayton
When people look at my son they always say, "Awe his eyes look so sad." And they are right. Just looking at him he does look like a sad little boy. But once you get around him he is all smiles. Well okay sometimes you have to work really hard for those smiles, but he always has plenty for me and his daddy. You could say that he is somewhat of a"homebody." He loves just piddling around the house and doing his own thing. God has truly blessed me and Bran with two wonderful children that I will always cherish. They are our world.
My lil' rounder! He loves his new Hat he got at the Rodeo. He also loves to follow the kittens into the bean field. And since he still doesn't talk much we have to be very careful to see where he is going because the beans are taller than he is. I looked out there the other night and it looked like the bean field had turned into a cotton field. ;)He hasn't yet figured out if he has that love for horses that his sister was born with.
Gotta Love Him!! I Do Anyway!! ;)
See he does know how to smile. ;)
This is one of his favorite people in the world. If he could go with Papa everyday he would gladly do it. Papa says when he's potty trained he will be with him everyday.
Yep! That's my boy! Like I said in an earlier post, he is ALL BOY, and lives to get dirty.

My Sky

Skylee Brooke Clayton
What can I say? Sky is one of my most precious jewels. She is different from any other little girl that I know. And this is probably due to her being my own. She is always making me laugh and at the same time always pushing my buttons. I guess that last part just comes with the territory of being a mom though. Here are some of her 4 year old pictures that Sky's Patty and I took the other day at Crowley's Ridge State Park and one of their Hay fields. It was such a pretty day!

Sky loved throwing pennies in the wishing well. She almost loved it too much and she wouldn't look at the camera. But this one turned out just fine.
She is growing up tooooo fast. Her daddy can't decide if he likes this picture or not. He says she looks too old. ;(
This picture was taken at the end of the day and this is exactly how Skylee felt. She was a trooper though. She did great for the most part.
I love this girl sooooooooo much!

When you ask Skylee what
she wants to be when she
grows up she will tell you
a Cowgirl that runs around
those barrel things. She loved
the rodeo and can't wait to go
riding again.
This is MY SKY!

Train a child...

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we as parents could choose each and every decision our small innocent children make throughout their tough years of life. What am I saying, I don't know if there has been a year go by that I haven't had to ask my parents for help with certain decisions yet. Anyway back on point. I wish that as a child I would have had the understanding of how much I was loved by my parents and know that they were just doing what was best for me at that time. I believe that a person does not get that full understanding of love until they have had their own precious children. And it is not until this time that we as children of God actually under stand the full meaning of God sending his son to die on the cross to save us from sin. As a child I did know that it was a big sacrifice, but not until I was pregnant with Skylee did I realize just how big.

At the time of my pregnancy with Skylee the movie The Passion of Jesus Christ had just hit the theaters. I went to watch this movie with my church family and I left there broken hearted for Mary. Now I know that there was a bigger message in that movie that I was suppose to get, and don't get me wrong I grew up in a very christian home and I have read this story many times and I got it, but getting a visualization of Mary suffer through watching her son get beaten and hung on that cross, well that kicked in the pregnancy hormones and it broke my heart. That is the day that I realized there is just something about the love you have for your own child. God is such an awesome God and I live to praise him every day.

I want my kids to always know that Brandon and I love and support them in everything that they do, but I also want them to make the right decisions in life and that is very important to me. I know they will mess up, because I still do, but I want them to be able to come to us so that we can help them get through it and steer them toward the way God wants them to go.

Raising my children to become strong faithful Christians is my number one goal in life right now and I pray every night that Brandon and I can set a good example for them to follow each and everyday. We had a guest speaker at our church one night and his name was Micah Brinkley. He said something that night that just pierced my heart and I haven't been able to forget it since. He said that he and his wife pray every night that if their children were to grow up and stray from God that they would rather God have them right now as innocent children and know they are safe in his loving arms. Don't quote me on that but that was the gist of it. I went home that night thinking what in the world? Who could say something like that? Well then it hit me. Someone who whole heartedly loves the Lord and his children both. Now that is some faith! I hope to one day be there and to be able to pray that prayer. I'm getting closer.

There is also one other point that I have heard over the years that literally terrifies me to death. And it is that a person is going to be who they are by the age of 8. Well that only gives us 4 more years for Skylee and 6 for Doss to instill the right roots. Parenting is one of the most challenging but rewarding jobs in the world and I just pray that the ultimate Boss is happy with our work.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. -Proverbs 22:6

God Put A Rainbow In The Sky!!

One afternoon, after a little rain shower, the kiddos and I went outside to play. Much to our surprise we noticed this beautiful rainbow.

This is Skylee's first time to witness a rainbow (well to her knowledge anyway). When she spotted it, she said "Wow mom is that the rainbow that God sent to Noah?" Moments like these make me so happy. What I want most out of life is for my family to know God and to someday all be together with him in his Kingdom.
Doss even noticed it. He just keep turning around and pointing to it. He still doesn't talk much, but I knew he was amazed. This actually was his first rainbow to admire.
I love for my children to be able to see God working through nature. Being raised by a farm family I know how important weather and nature can be. God is awesome and there is no way I could ever believe anything different after seeing this beautiful piece of nature created by him.
We were all filthy but we were having a blast enjoying Gods beautiful work. I didn't even have time to go in and get Doss any clothes, because we didn't want to miss a second of the rainbow. It was actually a double rainbow and it was amazing!

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth." -Genesis 9:12-17

Following!

Doss has hit the age where he lives to follow his sister around all the time. It was quite comical this afternoon. Everywhere and every pose that Sky did, Doss followed. Just check it out for yourself. This was in a 3-5 minute span! :)

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.-Corinthians 11:1

A Whole New World To Me!!

Hello to all that have stumbled onto my blog, and WELCOME. This is a very new thing for me, and I am very excited about it. I love to scrapbook, but rarely find time to enjoy that hobby anymore, hence the title of my blog. So I wish to use this blog as a way of documenting my children's lives until I can find time to scrap it. Also I want this blog to help serve as a way for my family and friends to keep in touch and know whats going on in our crazy lives.

If you don't already know me let me introduce myself to you. My name is Kisha and I am a God fearing Christian woman that looks to serve the Lord each and everyday. Though there are many days that I fail, I still try to do my best. I am happily married to a wonderful man that I meet on a blind date. Yes I said blind date, and after that date I said that I would never do that again!!! But the next day we went and rode 4-wheelers together and something just sparked, and we have been together ever sense. I have an in-home daycare, and though there are some days when I do want to pull my hair out, there are more days that I thank our precious Lord that I have been blessed to stay home with our wonderful kids. We have two beautiful children (well we think they are beautiful anyway ;) and their names are Skylee Brooke and Doss Brody.

Here they are:
Skylee is a very creative, spunky child. She has always been very particular about who she clings to though. When she was younger if you weren't in her "Select Group" ("SG") of people then you did not have a chance to get to know her, or speak to her for that matter. Now, that "SG" of people, they got the best out of her and she liked it that way. She has recently gotten better about this and has opened her heart to many more people, but she is still a little partial to that "SG"! Sky has always said some of the most hilarious things. Sometimes she says things that some adults couldn't even think up! She is our Skylee Brooke and there is no other child like her!
Some of her favorite things are:

Of course her "SG" of people

Horses

Swimming

Her cousin Jacie a.k.a. her idol right now

Doss on the other hand is completely opposite of his sister. I have to first say that my family has a long history of girls. So when we were blessed with Doss it was a huge change. If anyone ever tells you that boys are different than girls, than you better believe them!!! I thought that Skylee was a mess, well I hadn't meet Doss at that time. He is a rough and tough boy! But "boy" does he love his momma. (I kinda like that last part about him ;) Everything that he does is as fiercely as it can be. I guess you could say he puts everything he has into everything he does, including "love pats" to his sister ;) What do you do though, it's tough love!

Some of his favorite things are:

His Sister

Tractors & Motorcycles (well actually anything that goes VROOM, VROOM)

Wrestling with anyone that will wrestle with him

Momma

Doss' name has a very special meaning behind it. When we found out we were being blessed with a little boy I decided that I wanted to name him after my dad. My dads name is Gary but everyone calls him Giggi and Brandon just would not give in on me using Giggi anywhere in his name. So I chose a name that is very dear to my dad and me. My dad is the baby of 6 brothers and 1 sister, and 9 years ago his brother Dorsey, also his best friend, lost his battle against cancer. My dad always called my Uncle Dorsey "Brother Doss." So therefore this is where we got his name.

This is Doss and his Papa Giggi

As for my husband, Brandon, he is the love of my life. He is a very hard working husband that adores his children. He is an awesome dad! He is a firefighter and part time farmer on his days off. So when he's not at the station he's usually in the field.

Sky and her Daddy

This is a little peek of our life and I can't wait to share more! I hope you have a blessed day!

This is all of the family camping at Wynne in August 2009!

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:15
