Train a child...
At the time of my pregnancy with Skylee the movie The Passion of Jesus Christ had just hit the theaters. I went to watch this movie with my church family and I left there broken hearted for Mary. Now I know that there was a bigger message in that movie that I was suppose to get, and don't get me wrong I grew up in a very christian home and I have read this story many times and I got it, but getting a visualization of Mary suffer through watching her son get beaten and hung on that cross, well that kicked in the pregnancy hormones and it broke my heart. That is the day that I realized there is just something about the love you have for your own child. God is such an awesome God and I live to praise him every day.
I want my kids to always know that Brandon and I love and support them in everything that they do, but I also want them to make the right decisions in life and that is very important to me. I know they will mess up, because I still do, but I want them to be able to come to us so that we can help them get through it and steer them toward the way God wants them to go.
Raising my children to become strong faithful Christians is my number one goal in life right now and I pray every night that Brandon and I can set a good example for them to follow each and everyday. We had a guest speaker at our church one night and his name was Micah Brinkley. He said something that night that just pierced my heart and I haven't been able to forget it since. He said that he and his wife pray every night that if their children were to grow up and stray from God that they would rather God have them right now as innocent children and know they are safe in his loving arms. Don't quote me on that but that was the gist of it. I went home that night thinking what in the world? Who could say something like that? Well then it hit me. Someone who whole heartedly loves the Lord and his children both. Now that is some faith! I hope to one day be there and to be able to pray that prayer. I'm getting closer.
There is also one other point that I have heard over the years that literally terrifies me to death. And it is that a person is going to be who they are by the age of 8. Well that only gives us 4 more years for Skylee and 6 for Doss to instill the right roots. Parenting is one of the most challenging but rewarding jobs in the world and I just pray that the ultimate Boss is happy with our work.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. -Proverbs 22:6

God Put A Rainbow In The Sky!!
And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth." -Genesis 9:12-17

Following!
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.-Corinthians 11:1
A Whole New World To Me!!
Of course her "SG" of people
Horses

Her cousin Jacie a.k.a. her idol right now
Doss on the other hand is completely opposite of his sister. I have to first say that my family has a long history of girls. So when we were blessed with Doss it was a huge change. If anyone ever tells you that boys are different than girls, than you better believe them!!! I thought that Skylee was a mess, well I hadn't meet Doss at that time. He is a rough and tough boy! But "boy" does he love his momma. (I kinda like that last part about him ;) Everything that he does is as fiercely as it can be. I guess you could say he puts everything he has into everything he does, including "love pats" to his sister ;) What do you do though, it's tough love!
Some of his favorite things are:His Sister
Tractors & Motorcycles (well actually anything that goes VROOM, VROOM)
Wrestling with anyone that will wrestle with him
Momma
Doss' name has a very special meaning behind it. When we found out we were being blessed with a little boy I decided that I wanted to name him after my dad. My dads name is Gary but everyone calls him Giggi and Brandon just would not give in on me using Giggi anywhere in his name. So I chose a name that is very dear to my dad and me. My dad is the baby of 6 brothers and 1 sister, and 9 years ago his brother Dorsey, also his best friend, lost his battle against cancer. My dad always called my Uncle Dorsey "Brother Doss." So therefore this is where we got his name.
This is Doss and his Papa Giggi
This is a little peek of our life and I can't wait to share more! I hope you have a blessed day!

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."-Joshua 24:15
