Date Night!!!

If you don't know already me and my friend Nikki have started playing around with decorating cakes. You can check them out at http://www.loveedencake.blogspot.com/ Anyway we have been averaging about 1 or 2 a week. So that takes up some of our spare time. What the kids don't understand though is that while we are doing these cakes they could be getting away with murder because we don't really have a close eye on them, but instead they want to be right underneath us and constantly need something. So we are constantly telling them, "Go play! You actually have someone here to play with. Go play!" Well I felt like this weekend since we didn't have a cake to decorate Brandon and I would make this weekend all about the kids. So I woke Skylee up from her nap Friday afternoon and asked her if she would like to go on a date with me and her daddy. She was so excited!! She couldn't wait to go pick out her date clothes and she insisted that she wear make-up because that's what you do on a date. When I asked her what she wanted to wear she already had something in mind. She was determined to wear her dress that she wore in her Stephie's wedding. Her Flower Girl dress! So since this was their weekend, that's what she wore! After we got dressed and ready to go we asked Skylee where we were going to eat on our date. Her first thought was Burger King! So here we go all decked out in our flower girl dress headed to Burger King. Then when we got closer to town she said no I want to go to the Burger King on this side of town where Grandma took us to get slush's. So we remembered Minnetta took her to Dairy Queen earlier last week and we pulled in there. But she didn't want to eat there she just wanted a slush from there. So we went through the drive-thru.

So her final decision was the place where we ate with Aiden and Kam. So I remembered we ate at Chili's with them a few weeks back. So we went there. Doss of course drank his whole Artic Rush in one gulp so he had to deal with a major brain-freeze! OUCH!!! But Sky's came in handy because while we were waiting on a table, hers keep them occupied! We had a wonderful little dinner date with the kids and can't wait to do it again. Here's some pictures of how the rest of the night played out!!!
P.S. Thanks to Nikki for letting me borrow her camera since mine is broken :(

This is Doss's favorite meal right now!
Chips and Salsa!!
I just absolutely love this picture because it proves to everyone that our son Doss is a happy child and that he does smile :o) It just takes some work to get him to do it! ;)
She did exceptionally good with that dress. She didn't get anything on it the whole night!
Surprise, Surprise!!!
What a Wonderful Night!!!! After we ate at Chili's we asked what was next and Sky said she wanted to go to a movie. So I asked if she'd rather go to a movie at the theater or go buy a movie at Wal-Mart and go home and watch it all together on the couch? Well she decided she wanted to watch one at home. So they picked out 3 $5.00 movies and we headed home.
Thanks Skylee for such a Great Date Night!
Snuggling in to watch our date movie! The kids love when we pull the 2 couches together and make 1 big couch!
I pray that they never turn us down for a date with them, but I know that time is coming :( So we might as well enjoy it while it lasts, right?

We Love You Skylee Brooke and Doss Brody!

Smith Christmas 2009!

When I first got married I have to admit, that when the holiday season rolled around, I kinda dreaded it. It seemed like we were pulled every which way imaginable just so that we could make an appearance at each house we needed to make it to. And it was a little overwhelming! :o Little did I know then, but I know now, that we are so tremendously blessed to have "So" many places to go! Brandon and I both have wonderful families that love to get together! And to me this is such an awesome problem to have. So if my post seem like Christmas is never going to stop, just hang in there we are 1/2 way done. ;)
Doss, Sky, and Papa
Doss, Layne, and Sky playing before presents!!!

Yeah it's super hard to get a family photo with this whole bunch looking and acting normal, so we take what we can get!

Nanny 911 Please Help!!!!

Okay, so anyone that knows me and my family know that we have had a 27 year drought of boys in our family! Therefore we have been used to the girly things in life like: princesses, make-up, coloring, and girly, sassy, attitudes. Well much to my surprise when Doss came along we were introduced to little boy things like: wrestling, spitting, cars and trucks, and mischievous little boy things that I can not comprehend at all!! My friends that have sons have to keep me in check sometimes because some of the things that this little guy does makes me think, "OH NO WHAT HAVE WE GOT HERE!!!"

Take for instance just this past week I was getting everything cleaned up for lunch, the kids were watching a movie on the couch while I was vacuuming the daycare room and Doss takes it upon himself to get all of the cups, with lids may I inform you, and set them out of the fridge. Well I seen him doing it so I thought to myself, "Awe that's sweet he's helping momma set the table for lunch." When I went back in the daycare room to put the vacuum cleaner up I didn't think twice about what he was doing at this point because he had went and sat down when he noticed I seen him set the cups out. Little did I know that he had more to his plan than just that! I walk back into the dining room and much to my surprise my son had taken every lid off of the 7 cups of milk and dumped them onto the coffee table!! For no reason at all mind you, just because he felt like it I guess!! So I try to stay calm and tell him to back away from the table when in his mind he feels like splashing around in his milk masterpiece!!! Milk was going everywhere! And as if that wasn't enough, when he realizes that I am serious and very upset he takes his milk drenched hands and stamps the couch all the way down running from me. So you tell me, Does this not remind you of all those kids on Nanny 911 that just do horrible things for no apparent reason? We just pray that this doesn't continue on a regular basis. I have been told that boys will be boys and you just gotta try to redirect them in a more productive way! One good thing did come out of it though, it forced me to get on my hands and knees and mop my floors the right way!!!

Who Me? Couldn't Be!!!!!

Please Stay This Close Forever!!!!

We were getting ready for Christmas at Grandma and Papa's house, and I knew I better get pictures before we got there because Skylee was wearing white! And you would think that at 4 she would be getting better about not spilling things on her, but look who she has for a momma! I'm always spilling things on myself!
My little man is growing up so fast. Her shirt says it all!
My handsome Man!
They can be so innocent at times!!!
Just wait for a new post called "Nanny 911", you will hear just how innocent little Doss Brody can be at times!)
I love love love this picture! Because he is always watching big sister and trying to do what she is doing!!
I pray that they will be this close forever! We will see! (ha, ha)

We Are and Were prepared for This Winter!!!

This little trinket to our winter attire was added by my Nik Nik! I've always wanted one of these umbrella's! And low and behold I got one!! Thanks so much Nik Nik Your the greatest!!!! I love it!!! It would have came in very handy for the Jason Aldean concert ;) Lol!!! Good times!!

Henson Christmas Party 2009!

One party that I look forward to every year is the Henson Christmas Party. We have such a great time! It is so nice to have such a big family to get together with at Christmas time. We are truly blessed. The kids get to open gifts and go wild and play thanks to Aunt Brina who rents 7th and Muellers Gym for us to come and enjoy. This is Doss's first gun and even though it was broke when he opened it :( He LOVED it!!!! :o) He went around pow, powing all night. Well at least until cousin Anna Kate opened up her pink Dora the Explorer tea party set and then the gun was History! What can I say Doss likes pink. His friend Cash must have rubbed off on him ;) Skylee got a barrel racing toy set that she absolutely fell in love with also. She immediately quit what she was doing in the gym and played with her horse and rider for a long while.
Some of the family didn't get to make it and we really missed them. Maybe they will be able to make it next year! Already looking forward to it!

It's not like me to not take millions of pictures, but for some reason this year this is all that I got. I guess I was having too much fun with my wonderful family!

Jonesboro Christmas Parade 2009!

Brandon had to walk with the Firestation in the Jonesboro Christmas Parade this year and I think that they had a wonderful time. It was sooooo cold the night of the parade so mom gave in and gave the kids some of their Christmas presents early this year. She got them Gloves, Hats, Bibs, and Warm Coats! They loved them. I've always thought that Brandon's baby pictures reminded me of the boy on A Christmas Story, and this kinda reminded me of that movie! Doss had so many layers of clothes on he couldn't move! But he looked so sweet! Brandon's mom went with them so that Brandon could walk in the parade! She's the best mother-in-law! She is always willing to help out anytime we ask her to. Thank you so much Minnetta, We Love You! And the kids love going and being with her Grandma and Papa too, so that's just an added bonus! :o)
Getting all decked out for the Cold parade! This is my Uniformed Hubby and Kids ready to go!
I had to take pictures before they left because I don't like missing family events and for some reason I didn't get to make it to the parade with them?
